Question: If an ifectious ravaging disease, went through America, for example. How fast would we need to quarintine it, and should we focus on studying it rather trying to fix it?

  1. Hi jdoherty,

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in America is trying to educate people here on what to do to prevent an outbreak from spreading. If there is an infectious disease, the first steps would to quarantine people who has it so it will not spread to other people. Depending on the disease, if there is already a cure available, then it should be applied quickly to end the outbreak. If there isn’t a cure then the scientists would focus on studying what it is so they can work out how to fix it.

Fixing the outbreak is the final outcome, but you need to study the problem first before you can come up with a cure.
