Question: why do you like science?

  1. I like it because I get to watch stars blow up, see things that have never been seen before in space, and unraveling the mysteries of the Universe. What other job can do that?

  2. I like science as a job because it allows me to ask questions that no one knows the answers to, and that allows me to discover things that no one else has ever known. That is really cool, to know that you are pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. I also like science as a belief mechanism. It helps me to understand the universe and my place in it, and that helps me in daily life. 🙂

  3. As science is so broad and if you know the fundamentals, you can figure most things out (not all). This allows you to go into areas that interest you. You can work on the basic sciences (fundamental research), or you can apply it to a product or process. I love science because sometimes you can discover something that is useful to the world or make it into reality. Where I work, you can potentially change where you work within the same company, to research materials to make products for the transportation industry, for home and office, for enhancing displays in electronic devices, for the electrical industry, for safety and security and for health care.

  4. I like science because there is always a question to ask and an interesting answer to it. I also like talking to other scientists because even though we technically all have the same “job”, we can still learn so much from each other.

  5. I like it because I get to discover things and name new species. Every day is different. I love working with people and in my field of science we work as teams. It’s a great feeling to look at a freshly split piece of rock and see a fossil that no-one else in the world has ever seen before
