Similar to Brad, I love the discovery of something new. It is the accumulation of a lot of work, but when it all comes together and you realise what you’ve found, it’s a huge rush. And to know that you’re the first person ever to know something is pretty cool.
The fun part is like what Brad and Chris has said – finding out something new. Going out to a manufacturing plant to see things being made is also cool. In my case, I get to see my research go from the bench in the lab into a physical product that sits on a shelf that people can buy and use. When people tell me (either directly or write in product reviews) that it works great, it is probably the coolest part – knowing that I can make a difference.
Discovering/seeing something new in space that has never been seen before. Its an awesome feeling.
