We had general science early on (up until year 9 or 10?) and it split into the different fields of science (chemistry, physics, biology). General science was one of my favourite subjects because you learn so much about the world and why things work. By learning science, it made me wonder what happens if we did X instead of Y. I also got a sense of satisfaction when I can ‘predict’ what will happen in a reaction or procedure then see it actually happening.
It wasn’t my favorite subject. Ancient History was. I got interested in Science in yrs 11 and 12 when I realized how important chemistry was to the preservation of ancient materials. I started to realise then that science was integral to nearly everything we do – even art and history
