Mine was chemistry and math. I had an excellent chemistry teacher in high school and he really got us excited about the subject. Math I was just good at so I enjoyed it. When I got to Uni, I still really enjoyed chemistry but math became way too complicated!
My favorite subject in science is Chemistry because there are other sciences that ties in with it: e.g. Physical chemistry (involves physics), and biochemistry (involves some biology). My undergraduate degree is actually a double major in Chemistry – Organic and Physical Chemistry.
During highschool my favorite subject in science was Physics and I still enjoy some topics there.
In high school I liked Physics best, I had some good teachers and I was good at maths so I think that helped me to be good at Physics too. Now, obviously, I’m a biologist, so I have to stick up for Biology students everywhere! But all science subjects are interesting, as long as it is explained at a level that you can understand.
Astrophysics, that’s why I work in it. I enjoyed all realms of physics though, and I work closely with particle physicists (the people working at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland).
